Alec Pearson

Dancer — NYC.

Alec Pearson is a dancer originally from North Carolina currently based in Virginia. He recently graduated Cum Laude from Hofstra University with a BA in Dance with a double minor in Marketing and Mass Media Studies in the Spring of 2025 after only three years.

Alec began his dance training at the age of 14 at Miller Street Dance Academy in Charlotte, North Carolina. Although this started as a hobby, he realized that he wanted to begin taking dance seriously around age 17. At the time, he was a Psychology Major in a dual-enrollment program at Levine Middle College High School. To satisfy his desire for dance, he auditioned for and made the Miller Street competition team where he competed for one year.

He switched his career path and committed to Hofstra University as a dance major after a gap year. Here, Alec trained in ballet and modern, specializing in the Horton, Graham, and Taylor techniques. Through this program, he performed in works by Ori Flomin, Janice Rosario, Livia Vanaver, Clement Mensah, and Khalid Hill. During this time, he became a member of Hofstra’s National Honors Society for Dance Arts (NHSDA). Also at Hofstra University, he completed a course on choreography composition under the instruction of Robin Becker. This inspired him to diversify his dance experiences and he began to create original pieces. His first piece, entitled “Lost Ground”, premiered at Hofstra University’s Miscellaneous Works showcase in the fall of 2024.

In the two summers between school years, Alec had the opportunity to perform at various theme parks in the South. The Grand Carnivale experience at Carowinds (choreographed by Phil Vitug) was his first professional contract in the summer of 2023. He was given the opportunity to perform in Kings Dominion’s mainstage show “Retrospect” (choreographed by Josh Assor) during their Grand Carnivale season the following year.

Shortly after graduating in May of 2025, Alec was a part of the inaugural cast of We Are Oktoberfest at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg. This show, choreographed by Shelly Isler and Ben Belhumer, combined traditional polka dancing with modern pop choreography in an innovative, engaging experience in Das Festhaus to help celebrate the park’s 50th anniversary. Following this, he was a part of Jenn Jancuska’s Monster Stomp on Ripper Row at the Globe Theater in Busch Gardens in Williamsburg. Monster Stomp has been a fan-favorite experience that recalls the tale of the notorious serial Killer Jack the Ripper. This spectacular show is an exhilarating blend of hard-hitting rock music from live drums and athletic choreography.

When he is not dancing, Alec enjoys reading, working out, running, photography, listening to music, socializing with friends, and teaching dance in his local community.
