Alec Pearson is an accomplished dancer currently based in  New York City. He recently graduated Cum Laude from Hofstra University with a BA in Dance with a double minor in Marketing and Mass Media Studies in the Spring of 2025 after only three years.

Alec began his dance training at the age of 14 at Miller Street Dance Academy in Charlotte, North Carolina, starting in contemporary and ballet before adding jazz, hip hop, and tap into his training. In 2022, Alec committed to Hofstra University as a dance major after a gap year. Here, Alec continued trained in ballet and modern, specializing in the Horton, Graham, and Taylor techniques. Through this program, he performed in works by Ori Flomin, Janice Rosario, Livia Vanaver, Clement Mensah, and Khalid Hill. During this time, he became a member of Hofstra’s National Honors Society for Dance Arts (NHSDA). Also at Hofstra University, he completed a course on choreography composition under the instruction of Robin Becker, which inspired him choreograph his first piece entitled “Lost Ground” that premiered at the school’s Miscellaneous Works showcase in the fall of 2024.

When he was not in school, Alec was performing at theme parks. The Grand Carnivale experience at Carowinds was his first professional contract in the summer of 2023, where he danced in their opening and closing numbers, as well as the Grand Carnivale Spectacle of Color parade. He was given the opportunity to perform in Kings Dominion’s mainstage show “Retrospect” during their summer season the following year.

Shortly after graduating in May of 2025, Alec was a part of the inaugural cast of We Are Oktoberfest at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg. This show, choreographed by Shelly Isler and Ben Belhumer, combined traditional polka dancing with modern pop choreography in an innovative, engaging experience in Das Festhaus to help celebrate the park’s 50th anniversary. Following this, he was a part of Monster Stomp on Ripper Row at the Globe Theater in Busch Gardens in Williamsburg. Monster Stomp has been a fan-favorite experience that recounts the tale of the notorious serial Killer Jack the Ripper by using live drums in a rock-inspired, high-energy dance show.

When he is not dancing, Alec enjoys reading, working out, running, photography, listening to music, socializing with friends, and teaching dance in his local community.
